Volunteer to join our
Community Support Service
Are you a caring person who would like to offer telephone support from your own home, for those in need? Listening Ear is always looking for extra volunteers to help with our community support services in Sydney. We offer training courses for new volunteers and we also welcome volunteers with appropriate training and experience.
About Our Volunteers
Our volunteers are at the heart of our success as an effective community support service. All our listeners are volunteers, with many different backgrounds and varying levels of experience. You don't need any specific qualifications. We are looking for caring, empathetic people who want to give back to their community and are able to commit to 4 hrs a week of volunteering on the phones. Volunteers are also required to attend fortnightly workshops in Sydney for ongoing education and development.
Benefits of Volunteering
Listening Ear volunteers enjoy friendship, personal growth and ongoing educational opportunities for self and indirectly for family and friends with their increased knowledge and awareness of community needs.
